RENO, NV (Nov. 9) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) held its annual awards banquet at the Boomtown Hotel and Casino. Entering the room there was a historical display of photographs, trophies from years gone by and past championship jackets. Another tradition is a cake with the NNKC logo on it. That waited until later in the evening when it was time for desert. After dinner NNKC president Rodney Rivera got up and honored long time members like Mitch Kenney, who joined the club in 1981 as well as Mike McMullen as he signed on in 1982. Others honored

ANDY STRAIT – TRIPLE CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON

RENO, NV (Nov. 5) – It’s been a fantastic season for Andy Strait as he did something most drivers only dream about. Most would just to like to win one championship but this year earned three of them. Living in Spring Valley, a suburb of Elko, he and his wife Nicole have traveled many miles this year going to various racetracks. “We won the track championship at Rattlesnake Raceway and we won the track championship at Battle Mountain Raceway,” he said. MOON ROCKS, NV (Oct. 28) – Moon Rocks was the site of the latest MRANN race, the Zombie Falls Hare Scrambles. Hosted by the Rim Benders great fall weather brought 111 riders out for the Sunday’s big bike race. ULTRA 4 VISITS WILD WEST MOTORSPORTS PARK

SPARKS, NV (Oct. 20) – The Ultra 4 season ended at the Wild West Motorsports Park with the Nitto Tire Nationals. FALLON, NV (Oct.13) – Rattlesnake Raceway ended its 2018 season with the annual awards banquet. There was a raffle plus a lot of hardware and awards to hand out that evening. LARA president Chris Lumsden got things rolling by calling out groups to start enjoying the buffet that was ready. After dinner things got quiet and he began the awards part of the evening. The first group to pickup their trophies, including the championship jackets, were the youngest that race the Rattlesnake Outlaw Karts. FALLON, NV (OCT.6): Rattlesnake Raceway hosted the annual Dirt Track Championships and the Nevada Pro Stock Association ended its season Saturday. STEAD, NV (Oct. 7) – Desert Park Raceway was the scene of the season’s final race for the Northern Nevada Kart Club. While the morning started off cold things warmed up and set the stage for a good day of racing. Three of the races went right down to the wire. BATTLE BORN MX AT THE SANDBOX

FERNLEY, NV (Sept. 30) – Battle Born MX staged round three of its fall series at the Sandbox, or the Fernley/Wadsworth Motocross Track as its officially known. The host club was the Over The Hill Gang and there was a good turn out of riders for a wonderful day of racing. All told there were 363 entries although several riders rode in more than one race. FERNLEY, NV (Sept 29) – It was a September Finale at Fernley 95A Speedway this week. The final points race was also the season ending event as the two-day show was canceled.
