RENO, NV (Jan. 14) – MRANN Points Champion has a special meaning as many want that title but only a few actually achieve it. In 2018 Stephen Tichenor not only earned it but he joined an elite group as it’s his second points championship. RENO, NV (Jan 9) – Racing preview for this weekend finds us still stuck in the Rerun Zone but there are green flags ahead for the racing fan. Only a week or so to go. CAR MEETS: As usual Sparks Cars and Coffee are having the second-weekend-of-the-month meet on Sunday. Winter hours are from 10 a.m. until noon and the location is at the Sparks Dunkin’ Donuts, 425 Sparks Blvd., by the Target store. SPARKS, NV (Jan. 5) – Saturday’s Awards Banquet was for the Motorcycle Racing Association of Northern Nevada, or MRANN as its known. IT was a time to honor class and overall champions. Half way into the awards banquet there were two emotional segments. The first honored a man that helped many adults when they were young racers. The second honored a young racer lost a decade ago as his family’s club handed out two scholarships to a pair of young riders that want to continue their education. LOCAL RACER HEADS FOR SUPERCROSS

RENO, NV (Dec. 31) – A local motocross racer is headed to Anaheim, California this week. Aaron Siminoe is going to return to the Supercross series that begins Saturday. The series is large stadium motocross and travels across the country and Canada. For many it begins the racing year. “I’m going to be participating in the West Coast Lights Supercross,” he said. “The light is the 250F and the premier class is 450. RENO, NV (Dec. 10) – When the final checkered flag waved ending the Nevada Pro Stock Association’s season the champion was Jay Sears. It was a long 11-race schedule that took the series east to Winnemucca and north to Cedarville, California. President Travis Petersen was the master of ceremonies for the night. RPM WORKSHOP VISITS RENO

RENO, NV (NOV.30) – The annual RPM Workshop brings the short track industry to the Eldorado Hotel and Casino for two days of sharing formation and ideas. Short track promoters and vendors have been gathering her for over 40 years. After welcoming the attendees RPM boss Stewart Doty turned the lectern over to Rick Murdock, Director of Casino Marketing. He welcomed everybody and stated how pleased the Eldorado is to host the Workshop as it helps fill rooms during a slow period.
