VIRGINIA CITY, NV (April 29) – The Virginia City Grand Prix presented by Rhyno Built Welding is a two-day affair and both days are quite different from those racing as well as the course. Sunday is a mix of Novice, Women, Vintage and some veteran riders competing on a 22-mile course, which is a bit shorter than the one used Saturday.. The Vintage bikes race on a six-mile course due to the age of these machines. Saturday has four hours between the start and when the checkered is displayed. There are a several events locally, in Northern California as well as across the nation and overseas. Saturday is a big day as Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon hosts large racing card. NORCAL ROCK RACING AT WILD WEST

SPARKS, NV (April 21) – Norcal Rock Racing brought its off-road show to the Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend. All types of racers from Pre-Runners to 4400’s were on hand to face the challenge this track offers, especially since it was run in reverse. “It was good practice out here, it was high speed fast driving like a desert race, a rush the whole time,” J.P. OLD TIMERS ROCK THE SANDBOX

FERNLEY, NV (April 22) – This weekend the Reno chapter of the Old Timers hosted a round of their national series. The site was the Sand Box as its known, or the Fernley/Wadsworth Lions Motocross Track. The format is five timed motos; three on Saturday and two Sunday. This time there were over 150 riders that showed up for the weekend’s action although some of them chose to only race Saturday. RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY: POINTS RACE #2

FALLON, NV (April 14) – Rattlesnake Raceway staged the second race of the season going with good weather and hot racing on the track. This time the IMCA main was a come-from-behind story for the winner. In the heat races both Malen Gonzalez and Shawn Natenstedt were caught up in accidents. Fortunately for them there was a B main and they finished one-two so transferred into the 16-car main. NORTHERN NEVADA KART CLUB STARTS 2018 SEASON

STEAD, NV (April 15) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) opened its 2018 season at Desert Park Raceway, the club’s home track. With 40 karts on hand everyone was ready to start the year even if it was a cool and very windy day. One class even introduced a new motor to the club. DRY VALLEY, NEVADA (April 8) – This year’s Diamond Back Hare and Hound was run at the Dry Valley OHV area. This round of MRANN’s spring series was the Lassen Motorcycle Club. A storm slated to hit our area Friday and Saturday has canceled at least one event and maybe more so just be aware of that. If all goes well Fernley 95A Speedway will begin its 2018 season Saturday. FALLON (March 31) – Rattlesnake Raceway began its 2018 season here with great weather and some hard racing. Round out the racing card were the Outlaw Karts. RENO (March 28) – Racing Preview for this Easter/Passover week has a few local events as well as tracks that are opening up and starting their seasons. Things are slim to none on the National and International scene. Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon gets things rolling starting at 6 p.m. Friday with their annual car show at Stockman’s Casino. There will be racecars as well as streetcars on display. Then Saturday things at the Raceway begin at 3 p.m. when the Outlaw Karts start racing while the cars begin racing at 6 .m. on a day that should have beautiful weather.

One is the Northern Nevada Kart Club and the other is the Nevada Pro Stock Association; both have something in common, new presidents and boards.
